About Trish Porter Topmiller

My Story

Trish Porter Topmiller is a 1988 U.S. Olympian in the high jump, former world record holder for women age forty to forty-four in the high jump, and multiple times U.S. National and World Masters Champion. She is the award-winning author of her second book King Here: Never Too OLD, Too RICH or Too ANYTHING to Meet Jesus.

Trish has a bachelor’s degree in business marketing from the University of Oregon. She is a frequent speaker and guest on radio and television programs and has been the subject of interviews in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Today’s Christian Woman, and others. She has worked with the media promoting various sports events for over thirteen years and is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She attends Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Sagebrush Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Trish lost her husband of twenty years (Pat Porter, two-time U.S. Olympic team member) and son Connor (fifteen years old, U.S. National Fencing medalist) in a plane accident in 2012 and recently also lost her father. She married James Topmiller in 2016 and has a wonderful daughter, Shannon, who is a nationally competitive figure skater.

One of her favorite things is spending time with her husband and daughter. She cherishes her friends and family too. She enjoys being active; snow skiing, working out, strength training, hiking, and has recently taken up competitive tennis (really, she’s still trying to figure it out!). She also looks forward to travelling and active adventures. She has a crafty side where she makes family photo albums, and crochets afghans. For more…..
